Un mercenaire irlandais (Victor McLaglen) recherché retourne incognito dans son pays d'origine pour venger sa soeur. Entre temps le vieux juge (Hobart Bosworth) se sachant sur le point de mourir, force sa fille (June Collyer) à épouser D'Arcy (Earle Foxe), un homme sans foi ni loi alors qu'elle aime Dermot (Larry Kent).
Un excellent film dans lequel on aperçoit John Wayne dans l'un de ses tout premiers rôles. Victor McLaglen est excellent dans le rôle de Denis Hogan.
